About the job

Job Description

- Perform data mining, statistical research, customer segmentation, profiling, and modeling to provide solutions to business needs.
- Research and evaluate large volume of data from disparate sources (e.g. online and offline data, survey data, behavior data, commerce data, text data, etc.) to identify statistical patterns and form ideas for modeling.
- Leverages knowledge of machine learning solutions (e.g., classification, regression, clustering, forecasting, NLP, image processing, etc.) and individual algorithms (e.g., linear and logistic regression, k-means, gradient boosting, ARIMA, RNN, LSTM, etc.) to identify the best approach to complete objectives.
- Performs experimental methodologies, statistics, optimization, and probability theory for general purpose software and statistical packages.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders, project managers, and business analysts, to prioritize projects and align efforts for high business impact.
- Create meaningful presentations and analyses that tell a “story” focused on insights, not just data.


- 3+ years of data science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results) or consulting experience.
- BS/MS in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research or Computer Science is PREFERRED.
- Strong theory/algorithm background and very good understanding on how to apply advanced statistical techniques to solve real problems.
- Experience working on Big Data and Machine Learning technologies, e.g,  Databricks, Python, SQL, Hadoop, Spark/Hadoop, Cosmos DB, etc. is REQUIRED.
- Experience with data visualization with various tools such as PowerBI, Tableu, etc. is a plus.
- Experience working on software engineering, e.g., DevOps, Microservice, Agile methodology, etc. is preferred.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, ability to explain complex data in easy to understand stories/visualization to management and large groups.
- Good writing and communication skills in English is preferred.
